It may be because I've seen too many photos like this one lately but I'm not overly thrilled. It's a good, solid shot, really, and I cannot even find too many things that actually bother me, but a scenery like this just needs to be overwhelming - rays of light, strong shadow/light contrast... those are drastic aspects that just need to hit you and I'm afraid I'm not "as hit as I'm supposed to be" (forgive me that stupid phrase).

On a technical aspect I'd advise you to choose a different aperture F2.7 is just too wide - you can see how it blurs the tree tops.

The centred composition (how the tree trunk divides the shot) and square crop don't really work for me and I wish there was a bit more detail than just the black "lines". You've got a good hint of this in the smaller trees in the lower left corner but on the rest of the photo the depth gets a bit lost. When it comes to that I definitely prefer the photo you've posted in the description

I think you could improve this photo by cropping out the right half, actually - that one seems a bit bleak to me. However the left one has a lot of live and depth I know that's a pretty big cut but maybe give it a try and see how you like it ^^
